John Diaz is the Founder and Managing Partner of Stone Mountain Ventures. His focus is on Pre-seed, Seed, and Series A investments, throughout the consumer, healthcare, and technology space. Before founding Stone Mountain Ventures, John worked at Bain Capital Private Equity as a Sourcing Associate, Grant Park Ventures as an Advisor, and Wellington Management as a Business Development Associate. Additionally, he previously interned with Bloomberg and Goldman Sachs and received his BBA in Finance and Risk Management from St. Mary’s University. Throughout his experience in these roles, he has been able to build strong relationships with top VC firms, industry experts, and angel investors across the US. Additionally, he has founded 2 companies.
Sophie is the Chief of Staff at Stone Mountain and is currently learning her way through the VC world. With a passion for graphic design and photography and a few years of practice, she has been a great help to many projects within the firm. She holds an Associate of Arts with the goal to finish with a BA in the coming years.
Brian is a second-year student at Indiana University’s Kelley School majoring in Business Management with a minor in Economics & Political Science. Brian works as the Chief People Officer for BLK Capital Management, as the Co-Head of Recruitment & Diversity for Indiana University’s only finance research journal the Financial Investment Review, and as a Research Analyst for Indiana’s endowment fund, the Knall-Cohen Fund. In addition, Brian is highly interested in Politics, which has been the main driving force behind his work with United States Ambassadors and Congressmen.
